Sweet Giveaway: A Melange of Chocolate Cake and Brownie Mixes from Naturally Nora

Guess what? Today is officially National Chocolate Cake Day (which basically means that every other day is unofficially chocolate cake day, no caps involved).

And to celebrate, Naturally Nora, a manufacturer of all-natural, no-creepy-ingredient cake mixes, has kindly offered up a sweet prize for one lucky reader: a parcel containing a box of their chocolate cake mix, a box of their chocolate frosting mix, and a box of brownie mix.

Having sampled these sweet mixes for myself during my week of birthday cake making, I can attest that they are highly delicious--and everyone knows that for a quick fix, it's fun to use a mix. (Yes, I just made that up)

How do you put yourself in the running? Simply leave a comment below stating your favorite type of chocolate cake. Perhaps it's German chocolate? Or Black forest? Or a simple chocolate birthday cake with fluffy buttercream frosting?

The giveaway will close on February 2 at 12pm PST; the winner will be announced shortly after. US Entrants only, please. Oh, and if you can't wait for these mixes, find a retailer near you via the Naturally Nora site; you can also find them on Facebook and follow them on Twitter.

that sounds yummy. I always bake from scratch, but it would be nice to use a mix every now and then

I am SO not picky when it comes to my chocolate cakes... But if I had to choose one right now I guess I would say fluffy chocolate cake with super rich chocolate ganache. :)

My family has what we call the Waldorf Astoria cake, the recipe for which my great-grandmother and her girlfriends bought from the chef at the Waldorf in New York. It's the only chocolate cake I actually like!

My current favorite chocolate cake (to which I was just introduced over the holidays) is Guinness cake with Jameson's ganache. Wow! It breezed right past my former favorite, Kahlua bundt cake. Hmm, do you see a pattern here?

I love my Aunt Sara's Texas Sheet Cake. Sour cream in the frosting and cinnamon in the batter -- what can top that?

Any kind of chocolate cake will do...most recently I made a double chocolate layer cake. Yum.

My fave is chocolate fudge cake with fudgy frosting - the more chocoate the better!

My favorite chocolate cake is just a basic chocolate cake with a little powdered espresso thrown in to up the chocolatey-ness (I know it's not a word, but it's apt none-the-less). Frosted with a cream-cheese frosting with a little more powdered espresso for contrast and filled with chocolate truffle/mousse filling.

Unfortunately, I like any cake with chocolate in it. The only thing it can't have is nuts. It ruins a perfectly great cake!

Chocolate cupcake with vanilla buttercream.

I love German Chocolate cake, but prefer a fudge frosting to the traditonal. Or sometimes even cherry pie filling on top... mmmm. Now I want cake!

Thanks for the great giveaway Jessie!

I LOVE the quick fudgy chocolate cake recipe from the Chocolate Holidays cookbook. So far it has been the best from scratch cake recipe I have tried. It has a great chocolate flavor and moistness that hits the spot. And it goes with any frosting flavor you can come up with.

Definitely black forest! We just put in our order for a chocolate cake with cherry filling for our wedding. =)
