Shopikon Sweet Pick: Melt, London

Source: shopikon.com via Cake on Pinterest

Like, OMG.

There is a contest, and I want to win it. It is being put on by Shopikon in celebration of their Shopikon London App.

I guess I'll tell you why I want to win. Because the prize is a trip to London, and I really, really want to visit a bakery there. Wait, which bakery? ALL OF THEM.

But conveniently, to enter myself in the contest, I will focus on one of the sweets shops I want to visit which is also listed on Shopikon: Melt.

Cuppie in London!

Anyone who has ever read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory knows that chocolate in the United Kingdom is just better than chocolate anywhere else, or at least that is the fantasy that I have held since I was very young.  And upon my viewing of the Melt listing, I see that my fantasy is pretty much true. I mean, how magical does this place look?

To really consider the magic that is Melt, however, let's take a little cursory tour of their menu, ok? This could also be considered "the list of reasons why I'd like to visit, please."

Breakfast egg? This one is made of CHOCOLATE!

Artistic chocolates: a chocolate disc with an artful line illustration? sign me up.

Caramels! I am a sucker for (and of!) these treats, which are one of my favorites to savor. I wonder if they taste better in London?

Chocolate lollipops! These look like a delicious grown-up spin on the classic childhood treat.

Or perhaps you'd enjoy some hot chocolates, in a range of single-origin chocolate flavors...a perfect way to taste the world. Here's a picture of those again:

They also have a selection of "Chef's Chocolates" which are made with leading chefs as consultants. Pretty sweet!

Of course, menu aside, they also do a good job of it, too. Per the Shopikon listing, I learned that:

Sourcing their ingredients from the industry’s best companies - Valrhona in France and Switzerland’s Felchlin - Melt then creates its own candy art. Sea-salt caramel bonbons, salted praline cups and passion fruit-infused dark chocolate are some of the delights to be sampled – and that’s without mentioning the stacks of fresh truffles.

So, vote for me! Oh, wait, there is no voting in this contest. Well, send me good tidings and winning wishes!
