Monday, August 30, 2010
Things that are sad: CakeSpy's birthday week is over. And (bad spy) the giveaway schedule had a slight hitch: friday's giveaway never went up! Yikes (must have been too busy eating Birthday Cake French Toast!).
Things that are glad: There's a final giveaway to cap the week and say thank you for the totally sweet memories.
That's right: here's another giveaway, this time for the lovely and amazing M-Cups by super-creative company FRED! Here's a description:
This set of 6 dry-measure cups nests neatly just like traditional Russian matryoshkas. They accurately measure 1/4, 1/3, 1/2, 2/3, 3/4 and 1 full cup, and they’re built from heavy-duty, food-safe, long-life engineering plastics. M-Cups are useful, easy to store, and quite charming...so why not doll up YOUR kitchen with a little Russian folklore? Each set is packaged in a full-color printed giftbox.
They're a popular seller at CakeSpy Shop, and now you can win a set for free! How? Simply answer the following pressing cake question below. US and Canadian entrants only this time, please! The giveaway will close next Tuesday, September 7, at 12pm PST. Good luck!
Here's the question:
What is your least favorite dessert, and why?
Cakespy
Update: The winner!
We have a winner, friends! It's Andrea, who has a least favorite dessert which may prove controversial:
I'm not a huge fan of chocolate chip cookies. I'd rather eat the chocolate chips straight out of the bag or have the cookie minus the chips.
Well, she can just bake something else with these totally sweet cups, I guess! Congratulations!

Coming from South Florida, a place full of yummy foods with Latin influence - I was never able to appreciate or enjoy Guava Pastelitos. I'm not a fan of the Guava fruit, and they're so flaky and crumbly. It just frustrated me to try to eat around the Guava more than anything. Sigh.
I loveeeee anything sweet, but the one thing that my sweet tooth doesn't like is fondant. I think it looks beautiful on cakes and makes a cake look clean, but it just does not have an appealing taste. I would rather peel it off and eat the yummy cake underneath :)
My friends think I'm crazy for it: ice cream! I guess I just don't enjoy frozen dairy products.
I cannot eat cherry pie....hot cherries just make me sad inside :(
My least favorite dessert would have to be bread pudding. Mushy, bland, and slippery, it's always a staple at cheap-o buffets. Blech!
Hmmm least favorite... bread pudding. something about the texture.
cheesecake! it's too rich and i feel that cheese should not be in dessert :(
My least favourite dessert is bread pudding. Yuck!
I do not like any dessert that is trying to remotely pass as "healthy". And on that note, nothing with nuts...Those scones and cookies and muffins with nuts are not fooling me! Do not try to mix my dessert with non-dessert type things!
light and fluffy cake of any flavor. too light and fluffy! Give me dense, thick cake, yum!
flan. it is slimy and has gross caramel on top.
I'm not a big pie person. Cherry pie is my least favorite.
I'm just not into the textures I guess.
rice pudding! yuck! The texture of the little rice grains gross me out. :(
Mincemeat.... ewwwwwww
Any type of fruit filled pie. I just don't like warm fruit for some reason. I would gladly eat banana cream pie but hot apple pie? EWWW, pass!
Cherry pies with the bright red filling.. it's always SO artificial looking and tasting.. yuckkk
Chiffon pies. They remind me of wet styrofoam.
black licorice creme brulee -_-
family tried making one not so tasty im not a fan of black licorice nasty bitter gross!
anything with blueberries, blech!
anything with cooked fruit...pie, crisp, cobbler
anything custardy...flan, pudding, pumpkin pie
anything cheesy...cheesecake, cannoli
anything coconutty...

My least favorite dessert would have to be creme brulee because the texture on top makes my mouth feel funny.
I know it's a cliche, but fruitcake is just nasty. I've only had it once, when I worked in a gift shop that sold little fruitcakes at Christmastime. We had a taste test with the accompanying hard sauce. Yuk and yuk! Never again.
White chocolate banana cream pie. Why? Because I hate both bananas AND white chocolate. The only thing that could make it worse is if you threw some raisins in there too. There aren't many desserts I don't like. Sweets are kind of my thing. But THAT I would definitely pass on. Ick.
My least favourite would be this Chinese Red Bean Soup, what a very unsatisfying dessert!
