Brownie Points: a Simply Divine Brownies Giveaway!

Brownies are a masterpiece of American cookery. This is not opinion--it's fact. They are--to sum it up concisely--a simply divine treat.

Oh--what a perfect time to introduce the treasure of Portland, Maine--Simply Divine Brownies. They boast a retail bake shop, and will ship their brownies nationwide.

And oh, the brownies. At Casa de CakeSpy, we'd been mildly obsessed with these brownies since having discovered the adorable brownies that look like cupcakes, with the other items on the menu--like dense, chewy brownies in a plethora of flavors and sizes--just adding to the obsession.

And now, dear, lucky readers, you too can share this sweet joy.

Yup: Simply Divine has kindly offered a brownie care package for giveaway on this site.

What can you win? A parcel of pure pleasure, including a sampler of 12 assorted brownie flavors, a package of sweet brownie bites (perfect for smaller appetites, or, you know, eating 3 at a time), and one of those adorable aforementioned trompe l'oeil brownies. Not for nothin', but based on my calculations this is a parcel worth over $75, considering shipping and stuff.

Yeah, you wanna win this.

So how do you enter? It's easy. Just answer the following important brownie questions below in the comments section and you'll be entered to win this sweet package of postal bliss! Of course, if you couldn't possibly wait for brownie bliss, you can mos' def check them out online here and check out their blog here!

Fine Print: The giveaway will close on Sunday, February 22 at 12pm PST; the winner will be announced within the next 48 hours. Entrants in the US only, please. Good luck!

  1. What's your type of brownie: chewy, cakey, or fudgy?
  2. Frosting on brownies: yes or no?
  3. Which brownies in the pan do you covet most: edge or middle?

UPDATE: THE WINNER!

We have a winner, friends! It is Pruittiporn from New Haven, CT, who has this to say about the above brownie poll:

1. I oscillate between fudgy and chewy.

2. No - I prefer my brownie add-ons baked in!

3. I prefer edge, but I'm not opposed to the middle either

Definitely fudgy with lots and lots of walnuts
Frosting, YES!!!... Frosting on Brownies, NO!!!
Either/or (because brownies are soooooooo delicious), but probably the edge piece

1. Favorite type is fudgy.
2. Frosting? I won't argue it, but prefer a dusting of powdered sugar.
3. I covet the edges...and the corners even more! Those are the first to go!

Thanks for making my mouth water while at work with no brownies in sight. Cheers!

February 12 | Unregistered CommenterStacey

1. Fudgy

2. Yes and No. Yes on cakey brownies, no on chewy or fudgy brownies.

3. The middle. It's all I can do to not just cut a huge middle piece out and give the rest away.

February 12 | Unregistered CommenterAmy

1. What's your type of brownie: CHEWY for sure!!!
2. Frosting on brownies: depends on my mood ;)
3. Which brownies in the pan do you covet most: MIDDLE!! I hate the crusty ones!

February 12 | Unregistered CommenterBetsy @JavaCupcake

1. FUDGY
2. with frosting!
3.ALWAYS the center, hopefully they are gooey.

February 12 | Unregistered CommenterRobin

1. Chewy, hands down (cake is for cakey, fudge is for fudgey).
2. Absofudginlooutely! Especially store-type frosting that dries a little on the outside (and is easy to scoop-and-steal a bite before they're ready to serve).
3. Start with middle (from which I'll eat 5-6) and end with one edge.

February 12 | Unregistered CommenterGP

Chewy!
Heck no to the frosting. Why ruin it?
I'll take a big edge piece. Best of both worlds ;)

February 12 | Unregistered CommenterLaura Wynn

1. Fudgy. Can't get enough of that chocolate. ;)
2. Yes to frosting!
3. And from the edge.

February 12 | Unregistered CommenterSarah

1. Fudgy. All the way. The kind that requires a tall glass of milk as its accompaniment.
2. Prefer no frosting. Instead pump the brownie full of peanut butter or caramel.
3. Edge piece. Proud owner of Baker's Edge brownie pan, too. Brilliant purchase!

Thanks for coordinating the give away!

February 12 | Unregistered CommenterCMQ

1. Cakey
2. no frosting! definitely a purist!

February 12 | Unregistered CommenterMargaret

February 12 | Unregistered CommenterJess

1. Fudgy
2. No frosting (a sprinkling of powder sugar is ok, though)
3. The middle of course!

Gosh, I want a brownie really badly right now...

February 12 | Unregistered CommenterKelly

1.What's your type of brownie: chewy, cakey, or fudgy? Fudgy with a bit of cakieness.

February 12 | Unregistered CommenterHeidi

February 12 | Unregistered CommenterSara

Fudgy, frosting and middle.....YUM!

February 12 | Unregistered CommenterLuAnn

fudgy with frosting. and definitely from the middle!

February 12 | Unregistered CommenterEmily

Chewy, usually no frosting, edge (for maximum chewiness). I would rather eat carrots than a cakey brownie.

February 12 | Unregistered CommenterMeredith

1) Fudgy
2) Nooooo...
3) Edge.
My mouth is watering now...

February 12 | Unregistered CommenterCamila

1.FUDGY FUDGY FUDGY!! (maybe even a little undercooked so they're nice and gooey!!)
2.Usually no, unless it's a cake-like brownie, then yes. But I've never been known to turn down frosting :)
3. Is there a choice for c., all of the above? Edge, middle, picked up after the 5-second rule..I'll eat it :)
