Sweet Giveaway: Win an Original Framed CakeSpy Watercolor!

Today, for no particular reason other than the fact that it might sweeten your day, CakeSpy is offering a giveaway.

Totally sweet: you could win a framed and matted original watercolor by CakeSpy! It pictures a sweet scene of treats flying a kite on what looks like a carefree and sugar-filled day (of course, if you can't wait to see if you won, feel free to shop online here).

Want a piece of that sweetness? To enter to win, simply leave a comment on this post to satisfy the spy's curiosity:

What is the last dessert, sweet, or baked good that really knocked your socks off?

A buttery croissant? A decadent chocolate torte? Or perhaps a homespun apple pie? I want to hear all about it. Of course recipes are welcome too!

This giveaway is open to entrants everywhere (US and abroad). The giveaway will close for entries on Thursday, November 18, at 12pm PST, and a winner will be announced shortly thereafter.

the most recent yummy dessert that i had was a maple bread pudding that i got on my birthday. it was warm and gooey and had a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream, to boot. even sweeter - it had a birthday candle in the middle!

on my honeymoon in Italy my husband and I had a calzone. hot out of the oven, ooozing with ricotta cheese and Nutella and covered in powdered sugar. we always tend to bring it up when someone mentions dessert or baking, it is unforgetable!

Creme caramel from Dahlia Lounge was the last really delicious dessert I had. It reminded me of the leche flan that my mom makes for our birthdays. Yum!

I had an absolutely AMAZING slice (ok, 2 slices) of a Pumpkin Cheesecake that my bosses sister made, It was so creamy but with just the right amout of spices and pumpkin goodness topped off with whipped cream and a sprinkling of ground nutmeg! I HAD to have the recipe, so I plan on making it for Thanksgiving dinner.

Trader Joe's gluten-free chocolate cake. A friend really wanted to bring a gluten-free cake to a party that I could eat. Every time I've had it, it's been good. Maybe it was enhanced by the joy of friendship, but it really knocked my socks off that night.

The creme brulee at Disney World, of all places. Smooth, rich, full of beans.

a friend and i were making with oreo crumbs, so we had the filling from a whole package of oreos left over. melted it up (that stuff takes A LOT of microwaving to melt), stirred in some chocolate malt powder, and ate it on fresh butter-flavored crescent rolls. it was amazing.

Coming from someone who rarely gets to eat desserts (dang veganism), the last time I had a knock my socks off dessert was when my dad recreated my grandmother's lindsor cookies at Christmas a couple of years ago. Powdered sugar, shortbread and raspberry jam exploding from the center? There's nothing wrong with that! And my dad, who hates to bake and usually messes up the second he combines flour and sugar, got his moment in the sun that day: they were amazing!

I was craving something sweet and salty, so whipped up an experimental oatmeal cookie with chocolate chunks, crushed pretzels, and peanut butter m&ms. They were awesome (and oh, so rich).

the last thing that knocked my socks off was definitely a toasted s'mores cheesecake, which was covered with bruleed marshmallows.

Recently tried making apple caramel pie...the testing out of a new recipe until you perfect it is the best part. "I have to eat this because I'm refining the recipe."

My mom's cranberry apple walnut raisin pie. It is so yummy with a delicious flakey crust. And mixture of delicious apples, tart cranberries, luscious raisins and crunchy walnuts. It is delicious with homemade whipped cream. It makes me smile when I eat it. It is a thanksgiving staple at our house :-)
