Sweet Giveaway: Win an Original Framed CakeSpy Watercolor!

Today, for no particular reason other than the fact that it might sweeten your day, CakeSpy is offering a giveaway.

Totally sweet: you could win a framed and matted original watercolor by CakeSpy! It pictures a sweet scene of treats flying a kite on what looks like a carefree and sugar-filled day (of course, if you can't wait to see if you won, feel free to shop online here).

Want a piece of that sweetness? To enter to win, simply leave a comment on this post to satisfy the spy's curiosity:

What is the last dessert, sweet, or baked good that really knocked your socks off?

A buttery croissant? A decadent chocolate torte? Or perhaps a homespun apple pie? I want to hear all about it. Of course recipes are welcome too!

This giveaway is open to entrants everywhere (US and abroad). The giveaway will close for entries on Thursday, November 18, at 12pm PST, and a winner will be announced shortly thereafter.

A "peanut butter cup" dessert at a new restaurant here in Phoenix. It was served in a mini mason jar and was basically a layer of chocolate ganache, peanut butter pudding, and a second layer of ganache served with brown sugar cookies for dipping. OMG it was good!

The birthday cake that I made for my friend last weekend: yellow cake with sour cream chocolate frosting from smitten kitchen. Mmmm, it was delicious.

I'm not a big fan of gingerbread, but I know people who do. I made that gingerbread cake recipe into a loaf and gave it to my mom and dad. My mom distributed slices of it to her co-workers, but kept some for herself and dad. Everyone was loving its moist texture and Christmas-y aroma. Nothing says Christmas like the smell of gingerbread!

I made a pound cake with milk chocolate/almond buttercream... I make my cake in three layers and then slather (if that is a word) the icing between the layers and on the outside.. Will almost bring tears to your eyes.

I made the Nanaimo Bars that I found through your website, but as I usually do I experimented a bit for the sake of making the recipe easier (and perhaps tastier). I did the base and topping just like the recipe called for, but the filling I made my way - chocolate fudge pudding (instant) made with 2 cups of heavy whipping cream. The Nanaimo Bars turned out AMAZINGLY good and I'll be making them again this weekend for some guests coming for lunch.

Nummy Nanaimos!!!!

Vikings (-1) over BEARS
Let's look at a sampling of things that were anonymously said about Brad Childress this week. I made up only three of them.

"We know that Childress doesn't have our backs, so why should we have his?"

"He has absolutely no people skills."

"I'm not the player who crapped on the hood of his car. But I know who did."

"We're playing for us, and we're winning despite him."

"Do I always get along with my coach, quarterback coach, offensive coordinator? No. Do I always agree with the plays that are called? No."

"Sometimes I think about framing him for a murder. Then I think it would be more fun just to kill him."

"As much as I hate Childress, I will keep playing."

"Instead of dumping Gatorade on Childress if we beat Chicago on Sunday, I want to lock him in a porta-john and tip him over. Actually, I want to do that anyway."

(So why pick the Vikings? Because this putrid Bears team can't possibly go 6-3. It's just too ludicrous. And also, doesn't it seem like the Vikings are feeding off their negativity toward Childress? It's like that one buddy who dates the girl everyone hates; she inadvertently brings everyone else closer together. What better way for an incompetent coach to get a rise out of a talented team than by turning everyone against him? Wasn't that Bud Kilmer's playbook?)

A peanutbutter bar that had the creamiest, smoothest peanutbutter center, a wonderful dark chocolate ganache top and a crumbly short bread crust. Yum!

I just had some "hot chocolate" chip cookies a few weeks ago. Milk, semi-sweet, and white chocolate chips with cocoa mix in the cookies. They are a chocolate lover's dream. :)

My husby and I went out to dinner at a local restaurant and for dessert they had a few options but what really stood out to me was fresh strawberry cake with coconut pecan cream cheese frosting. I swear, it was the best cake i've ever tasted!
