Cake Byte: Sweet News from Cakespy

Trophy Cupcakes is Gonna be on Martha Stewart!
We're pretty excited about some sweet stuff today:

First off, did you see our friends on Martha Stewart's Cupcake Week? Cupcakes Take the Cake, a fab threesome of sugar-loving girls from NYC, kicked off the week on Monday--check out their segment here. And today our friends Bakerella and Jennifer Shea (of Seattle's own Trophy Cupcakes--read our interview with her here!) will appear on the show. Fantastic!

As a bonus, if you're in Seattle, Trophy will be having a little to-do to celebrate their fifteen minutes--it's an open house, TONIGHT, Thursday, April 3, from 5-8 p.m. --did we mention there will be free cupcakes?! We're so there. Read more about it here!

Finally, will you be around the Capitol Hill area of Seattle this Sunday? Well, why not stop by and see Head Spy Jessie at I Heart Rummage? IHR is one of the premier indie craft fairs in the area, and there will be lots of great vendors selling stuff that you might not need, but you sure want. We'll have original art pieces, buttons, and more for sale! So stop by! Here are the location and details:

Sunday, April 6th
CHOP SUEY
1325 E. Madison
Seattle, WA 98122
12-4pm

Have a sweet weekend!

I know I just saw the Martha show. I DVR-ed it just to watch them. Fantastic!!! I so want to try Jennifer's cupcakes... the triple chocolate looked phenomenal! Have you reviewed her shop before? I need to read that so I get even more jealous!

Is the cupcake in the speedo checking out the chick in the bikini or are they having a little spat? I wish I lived in Seattle so I could see all the cool stuff for sale. *pout!

I'm thinking I really need to move. Seattle sounds like it's hopping with far more cupcakery than anywhere I've been. Maybe it's just marketed better. But I wonder if I tell people why I'm moving whether they'll think I'm crazy. I would have plenty of cupcakes to ease the pain of being friendless...

That's awesome news that the goddess of all things domestic had a local gal on her show today.

I'm thinking we have more cupcakes here because it's a depressing area in the winter and we need all the sugar to keep us going! =)

Aran: You should check out our interview with her--it is here: http://www.cakespy.com/2007/09/batter-chatter-interview-with-jennifer.html also we cover Trophy a lot on Cakespy Seattle, our Seattle outpost in partnership with a local newspaper!

Veron: Aren't they adorable?

Krysta: Wish you could be here too!

GP: And, duh, you'd have us to hang out with!!

Glamah: Yeah, you must see it!!

Anne-Marie: That is a good thought--the pastel colors and happy taste bring our spirits up and give us energy for rainy sluggish days!! It was an awesome feature. Jennifer is an inspiration!

Yea, Trophy! It was on my list of must-visit places for our never-happened vacation to Seattle last July. (oh yeah, my husband had to work) At any rate, eventually, we are coming to check out the lovely city of Portland, and when we do, I am having a Trophy cupcake :)

Loving cupcake week on Martha. Usually, I don't even watch, but this week, it's DVR all the way.

So very exciting - but isn't it odd that they started a whole thing on cupcakes with a ridiculous commercial for stool softeners????? duh???

It's a cupcake revolution! Thank you for the info - I'll be sure to catch today's show. I guess I missed the free cupcakes, but maybe I'll just make my own... not nearly as good, but hot from th oven.

Lucky Jesse--have fun! Is the Capitol Hill grill still there? I love their coffee cake. I love my version more, because it's 20 times healthier, but their's still rocks.
